What PC specs will be needed to run GTA 6 at 1440p 60FPS?
With GTA 6 trailers showcasing insane NPC density, volumetric physics, and ray-traced lighting, what kind of hardware will realistically be required when it arrives on PC?
Will 8GB VRAM GPUs (like RTX 3070/4060) be obsolete for high settings?
Looking at current console specs (PS5/Xbox Series X) and Rockstar's RAGE engine roadmap:
Expected 1440p 60FPS Spec:
- GPU: RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT with at least 12GB–16GB VRAM.
- CPU: 8-core modern processor (Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Intel i7-13700K) due to massive physics and AI calculation threads.
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 recommended (16GB will likely suffer pagefile hitching).
- Storage: NVMe SSD mandatory (DirectStorage will be utilized for streaming world assets).
8GB VRAM will likely be limited to 1080p with medium textures due to memory exhaustion.
Rockstar always pushes the envelope on CPU simulation. NPC pathfinding and crowd density in Vice City are going to tax the processor heavily, so don't skimp on CPU.
